What’s It Like
It’s a rugby ground, adapted for the beautiful game to be played on. With a 12,000 capacity it is a decent size ground. Away fans are on an open terrace on one side of the East Stand; you’ll get seriously wet if it rains. Up to 1,100 Swans fans can be housed here.

Seats in the South Stand at one end of the ground will also be available. They do mega huge Cornish pasties in the ground, and they even do a vegetarian version. Also on offer are a range of pies. The Rovers fans regularly do a good rendition of their club anthem ‘Goodnight Irene’.

Visiting Bristol
For shopaholics, there’s ‘The Mall at Cribbs Causeway (BS34 5DG) as well as the city centre which has all the chain stores and independent shops you could ask for. There are plenty of out of town shopping centres, including IKEA.

Get out your Basques and Suspenders because it’s the rocky Horror Show at the Bristol Hippodrome (BS1 4UZ) on the Friday and Saturday. Ladies, you can dress up too. Performances are at 17:30 and 20:30 with tickets £17.90 – £61.40. On the Monday it’s ‘The Simon and Garfunkel Story’. The show is on at 19:30 with tickets £22.65 – £24.15.

Bristol Zoo (BS8 3HA) is always a good place to visit. Buying tickets on line gets 15% off and fast pass entry, at https://www.myonlinebooking.co.uk/bristolzoo/buy.aspx?tid=9

There is plenty to see and do in Bristol, so you may want to make a night of it.

Pubs and Grub
There’s a bar behind the clubhouse terrace at the ground that should allow Swans fans in. ‘The Annexe Inn’ (BS7 9EQ) is half mile from the stadium, and in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and is the best place to go for Swans fans.

Next door is ‘The Sportsman’ (BS7 9EQ). They are jointly run and linked pubs with normal pub food and homemade stone baked pizzas; The Sportsman boasts 11 pool tables.

Alcohol is not sold to away fans inside the stadium. The Wellington’ pub (BS7 8UR) has been recently refurbished and has 8 guest rooms, including double, twin and king-sized rooms.

Parking and Trains
The stadium has a car park and there’s a decent amount of street parking around the sides and back of ‘The Wellington’ pub (BS7 8UR).

The nearest railway station is Filton Abbey Wood, a 20-25 minutes walk from the ground. More likely you’ll find yourself at Bristol Parkway which is about 2 miles from the ground and probably too far to walk.

A taxi is about £10 or buses 73/73A/73B run from the railway station past the Memorial Stadium.
