I have included in many posts over the years that I have a 91 year old sitting in front of me, I say 91, as he admitted to being 90 a few seasons ago, I have lost track of when that was. He started watching the Swans after the war, but never said exactly when.
After the Leeds game, he said he was finding the mid week games more difficult to keep coming to, and he may only attend the Saturday games now. It was very sad, we have a great football friendship despite our 35/40 year age gap. He lives in Gorseinon somewhere. We only talk football, not a single word on Brexit, and the last few seasons he has called just about every move of Jenkins on the money.
I still have no idea of his name, he does know mine either, which is strange I guess. He also said this, "that will be the last mid week game I see here with a crowd and an atmosphere, yours will be Stoke in April if they are doing well. Then, you better hope Bristol Rovers pick up "
At the time I was not sure what he meant, but a look at the fixtures, Stoke are the last side who may bring a decent away support, and I guess looking ahead, he thought Bristol Rovers next season may have some support.
A lot of what I post is after discussions with my friend. His mind is very much there even if his body is failing. We discuss all things Jenkins, and come to various conclusions, usually correctly.
I hope he sat there at the first home game next season regardless of what division that is in.
