If Bony is fit, then what would be the point in bringing Rooney in and selling him?
Rooney's wages are probably higher than Bony's, and no doubt they would expect a loan fee.
The stories doing the rounds were we would be happy to offload him for around £2m.
BUT, as I have posted before, from the end of Jan to when his contract ends, he will cost us £2m. I believe there is the opportunity to extend his contract. And if we get promotion, then he'd be worth keeping if he gets back to anywhere near his potential. Or if we dont, but he has been scoring, and the contract automatically triggered, then again we'd probably get more than £2m for him in the summer.
Anyway, it is a moot point, as there is no way Rooney will be back to play in the UK for anyone other than Everton or United, let in the Championship.
