Hopefully this new feature will provide some light alternative reading/entertainment during such unprecedented times.

Remember him from the mid-80s?
His first season saw Merthyr win the Championship of the Midland Division, and the following season the Championship of the Premier Division, and promotion to the Conference. With the club winning the Welsh Cup in 1987, Nigel’s first season at Penydarren Park saw him play in both legs against Italian side Atalanta, winning the first leg at Penydarren Park, before losing 2-0 in Italy. He was also capped for the Wales Semi-Professional side against England during his first season with Merthyr. Nigel made 3 league appearances, two as substitute for Merthyr in the GM Vauxhall Conference during season 1989/90, and after a period on the sidelines with glandular fever joined Haverfordwest County in the Abacus Welsh League National Division, winning the Championship later in the season. After making appearances for Abergavenny(season 1990/91) and a spell back at Haverfordwest, he joined Barry Town for the start of the 1993/94 season, but halfway through the season returned to Haverfordwest. At the end of the season, Barry had not only won the Welsh League First Division Championship, but had also won the Welsh Cup. He finished his playing career with Swansea Senior League side Port Tennant Colts, working for the Royal Mail as a postman, and for a period he was seconded to NTL in Llansamlet.
" he may get there he may not "
