You can bet your life they've taken a look at our recent success at bringing through talent from our academy and, more importantly, how much we've sold them on for.
Wasn't quite sure where to post this - but having a frosty mug watching the Palace v Newcastle game and i have to get something off my chest.
We may have thought that we sold ourselves short when we "gave" joe Rodon to Spurs - BUT it pales into insignificance compared to what we received from Newcastle for Fernandez - selling him for a bag of cones and some training bibs was a gross dereliction of duty by our owners.
Trust me that getting him off our books was to be done at any cost. His attitude stunk and even when we sold him we had to do it for less than what Palace were willing to pay.l he refused to leave us unless we sold him for less so palace could then up his wages.
I see Chatz. So it was damage limitation that he was released for such a paltry amount. It’s a pity that he didn’t have the same attitude as his brother post relegation as he would have been a real threat in front of goal for us.

As we shut down our academy they will suck up ALL the local talent. We have myopic leadership.

no doubt a combination of market forces and a desperation to get him off our wage bill
And Jordan Ayew. The striker we so desperately need right now.

Yes, I heard similar.
Thankfully his older brother seems not to share those attitudes and is giving everything in return for his contract.
