moorlands Family legend for me was that my Dad as a schoolboyin the 30's had a Saturday job in the walking up and down the gangways of the double decker selling sweets and cigarettes from a tray.I often wonder how much time he spent on selling rather than watching the game.
More recently the double decker was how I introduced my lads to the Vetch watching Harry Griffiths teams in Div 4.Probably no more than 50 of us up there in those days.I wouldn't have fancied being up there with a full house though.
Bad enough standing under the double decker during a game when splinters of wood fell to the floor when fans 'upstairs' stamped their feet in excitement. Nevertheless, upstairs in the decker was a terrific vantage point to see the game.
