WANTED: Feedback and Contributors

edited April 10 in Swansea City

Although there is still plenty to play for over the next few months, we wanted to start looking ahead to next season in terms of the SCFC2 website.

Sadly, Alex who does the webmaster role on the Forum will be leaving at the end of the month, so you'll have to put up with me moving forward ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ok ideally what we'd like everyone who reads this to do is provide some suggestions/feedback on how things can be improved on the website as a whole, this forum, our social media coverage or anything related to SCFC2 really.

Here are some example suggestions:

  1. Suggesting some new discussion boards, e.g. General Welsh Football (i.e. nothing Swans or Wales International related), Former Swans Players, Dedicated U23/U18/Ladies board, etc.;
  2. Suggesting some ideas for articles, e.g. Player/Coach interviews, Where are they now, stats related, etc.;
  3. Better fonts/colours to aid readability and accessibility?
  4. More competitions - lots of them with great prizes?

Similarily, if you'd like to contribute articles (on a regular basis or not) then let us know - whilst we can't currently pay any contributors (sorry) the opportunity does give people looking for a career in journalism an oportunity to showcase their skills. If you know someone who you think would be interested, perhaps a media student, then ask them to get in touch.

Of course if you'd prefer not to give your feedback via this forum, then send me a PM or use our contact form.

Whilst we provide a 'service' via SCFC2 as Swansea City fans ourselves, without the community of fans that use this site, it wouldn't exist, so please let us know what you'd like to see on SCFC2 moving forward.

Thanks for reading and for all your support ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

Duncan

P.s.

I posted this on the 'Swansea City' board rather then 'The Lounge' because unsurprisingly this is the most popular board ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I test software for a living, so am happy to help in a personal capacity & Quality Assurance test any new setup etc, if wanted / needed, all for the princely sum of £0.00 p/h for fellow jacks.

  • Thank you for the very kind offer @HellesdonJack ๐Ÿ™Œ

I'll be sure to get in touch if we need any QA and testing done on the site/forum ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  • Having the ability to create a poll would be good

    Webmaster
  • Having the ability to mildly disagree with something without saying WTF would be helpful..

I respectfully disagree - or you are only partially correct is something I find myself wanting to react with.

  • Understanding there are two sides to most discussions and respect other people's view .

    Webmaster
  • Thanks for the feedback @Fledge ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

We used to have a Poll function the forum but it didn't work when we did the last upgrade, but I'll take another look and see what we can do.

  • Thank you @Jackareme and @Malc for the feedback ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

I'll have a look at see if we can change or add to some of the 'reactions' - as you make a very valid point.

I'm not sure getting people to respect other people's (alternative) views is something I can do using technology @Malc ๐Ÿ˜‚ But I totally understand what you mean and where you are coming from.

  • Out of interest - and this might be just me!! Recently I have not been able to access the guestbook via the safari browser on my macbook.

It works just fine with google chrome and microsoft edge. Is this a problem for anyone else?

    Webmaster
  • I’m using Safari on an iPhone usually and I’ve got no problems to report Jackareme. Strange one that.

    Webmaster
  • The only trouble that I have is with Mark Jack London’s posts not displaying the links he adds from Twitter. Sometimes refreshing the page works and other times it doesn’t.

    Webmaster
  • Thanks for the feedback guys - will take a look at the Safari issue and come back to you directly @Jackareme ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

For whatever reason @SeaJack the Twitter links can sometimes be a little temperamental, the link does an automatic 'fetch' from Twitter, so it looks like something their side not ours but I'll keep tabs on it.

    Cheers,

    Duncan (@DDWT)

  • or you agree with something. not that you think the comment is "awesome, maaannnn". or Insightful.

Just a thumbs up, kind of agreement.

    Webmaster
  • I am posting from Safari on my MacBookPro, and so, I think it looks like it is something peculiar to your MacBook.

    Webmaster
  • OK thanks guys - it is a weird one - I have a MacBook Air and the chrome browser on the computer is fine - but the safari browser fails to load ONLY the forum pages (papertalk etc. fine).

Disregard it looks like it might be a local issue or (quite likely) pilot error this side!
