Some nostalgia - Swans v Wrexham, Welsh Cup Final, May 1991

Lifted off Simon Williams twitter,

20th in level three of the Football League, and a prelude to a trip into Europe to play Arsene Wenger's Monaco.

  • Was at the game , Swans managed by one of my favourite managers Frankie Burrows ,

  • Travelled back from London for the day for the game and met friends there. Train not exactly full of fans. Only me I seem to recall. Routine win in the end and spotted myself on the telly later in my replica DP shirt. Wish I still had it.

  • Frank Burrows what a character.

I remember when we got beat by Merthyr in the Welsh Cup.

We missed a late penalty to bring it back to 2-1. In reacting to the penalty miss after the game, Burrows simply said his Daughter could have kicked the ball better lol

  • Also loved Terry Connor and Paul Raynor. I recall Raynor was often a super sub. He always had that potential to create something out of nothing. Connor was just class at that level.
