Oh my lord if we are going to give the existing players a "chance to impress" before catching the tail of the transfer window (with roughly 15 games left) then this really is unacceptable.
There is enough evidence surely for us to say with some authority that we need a replacement for Siggy (which may take more than one attacking player) and we needed them in place at the start of last August, not at the end of January.
I have a horrible knot in my gut that MJL (not for the first time) has heard correctly and that there will be little or no investment in the near future and we will meekly accept relegation with our financial "ducks in a row" for the motley collection of 27 investors.
A club with proper leadership would not have needed an eternity to replace a sacked coach (they would have someone identified) - particularly when the man they eventually chose was unemployed and watching the Strictly celebrity Christmas special in his Yorkshire home. The 5 goals we shipped at Liverpool through being rudderless have taken us to the bottom of the Goal difference tie breaker as well.
Similarly we were assured that extensive player research has been done on potential recruits by our stellar team of moneyball detectives - these players should be photographed in their Swans shirts in the first week of January (latest).
With great power comes great responsibility - and a footballing operation that lacks direction is a very sad indictment on our self styled Director of Football...Unless of course manager and player recruitment is not the responsibility of the DoF?? But with no clarity on roles and responsibilities we are merely left to draw the conclusion.
