Jenkins gone
Breaking News from BBC Wales:
Huw Jenkins has stepped down as chairman of Championship club Swansea City.Jenkins was appointed chairman in January 2002 and oversaw a huge reversal in fortunes.
The club almost dropped out of the Football League in 2003 before rising up the divisions to win Premier League promotion in 2011.
"It comes with great sadness but I feel I've been left with little or no option [but] to leave my position," he said.
But Jenkins has been criticised by some Swansea supporters since the takeover of the club in 2016 by American pair Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan,
Calls for him to step down intensified since the club's relegation to the Championship last season.
On Saturday, Swansea City Supporters' Trust criticised the club's owners for lacking ambition and called for Jenkins to stand down.
It came in the wake of a January transfer window in which the club lost further players and made no signings.
"Swansea City has been a massive part of my life from a very young age," Jenkins added.
"I have been very fortunate to fulfill my childhood dreams over the last 17 years or so providing direction andl at the club whilst moving through the football leagues and competing with the elite of British football in the Premier league for seven seasons.
" Gradually over the last few seasons my role as Chairman providing such leadership and direction has been eroded away.
"Finally I can sit back no longer and hide behind my position and stay true to myself and my beliefs."

Wish the US robbers join him. But this might mean they bring one of their own in to make things even worse.

Says a lot about our new owners that
The James fiasco was it, dealing with a club with no money, using the excuse he blocked the deal because he didn't want him gone is bollocks, he sent him to Leeds in the first place. his last cock up
Doesn't matter now, he has gone, 1 down Levien, Kaplan and Pearlman to go.

Yes, very fortunate indeed. You and your buddies got us to where we are now.
Good f***ing riddance!
This is genuinely scary now!
From a jack to a king and from a king to a “rag” Huws only saving grace would be to instigate a gathering of local consortium business to buy out the club and save Swansea city from meltdown !
Thus he has now put the blame firmly at the Yanks door.
Will he, Morgan and a new consortium, now try and buy the club back? There's more to run with this.
just sounds like a Swansea rich list
This and the Daniel James fiasco says a lot in my opinion and that he obviously has had enough and stopped the transfer.
How long,( based on his comments and what we should all realise ), since not having control, with the Yanks ruining the club and not investing has he maybe been fighting for the right things. He was and presumably still is a fan.
I am not a Jenkins supporter, based on the way things have turned out the last couple of years.
However:
Lack of due dilligence obviously resulted in not being aware that the Yanks have no money to invest. The Yanks lied to us.
They obviously in my opinion lied to the share holders whose shares they bought, how they allowed that to happen is beyond contemplation.
There has previously been talk of trying to put a consortium together to buy out the Yanks. It really would be of benefit now more than ever.
If Huw Jenkins has been tucked up by the Yanks I hope he will also come out on the Clubs, Trusts, Manager and players and Fans side and tell us what has been going on to assist getting rid of these Yanks.
Another thought is that did the Yanks buy the shares on false promises surely there must be some legal case against them.
I cannot see as has been suggested by others that they have bought their shareholding on the never never to the old board and paying out of club funds. Even the most stupid of old board people would realise that they were being given money that was already theirs for their shares if this was the case.
Let us hope that the yanks leave very soon as well or pity help our club.
There must be something that can be done.
In conclusion I would thank Huw Jenkins for what he did in the past before the Yanks.
I would also say, he has in many ways, brought this current situation on himself and our club.
I also think that if some people have any sense they will I hope ensure that he is now got on board with any worthwhile information to help get the Yanks Out.
For all of it, it is easy for us to criticise, he also may well be 100% genuine and accepts that he messed up.
Tried to start putting things right by saying enough is enough stepped down as a result.
This is all just an view on what might be or not.
I just hope that as a club we do not go further down the road to ruin before change for the good starts taking us back to being a better club again
STID
These owners must must must go !
They are not SCFC !
