This thread is to discuss the current Swansea City players that are out on loan at other clubs for the 2021-2022 season.
MotM Well done Kyle, come back soon
Garrick is getting plenty of minutes for Argyle. And is really starting to make a mark as a wingback.
Plymouth reporter of 25 years has Jordy as MoM yesterday.
Kyle Joseph had no game - called off because of international call-ups.
Ollie Cooper got another 90 mins for Newport in a nil nil draw, and had the highest player rating according to the Bradford Argus report.
Andrew Penman for Wales Online said of him, "Oli Cooper, a bright spark in midfield..."
Gould 90 mins in a 3-1 away win for Ebbsfleet at Slough.
Cameron Evans 's game for Waterford Town was also postponed due to international call-ups.
So Cooper wasn't so far off, maybe, playing JG as a wing back in the cup?
I'd still prefer to see him further forwards, in more of a Lowe role
Surely JG has to be a winger not a wing back! We have those winger slots in the 4-2-3-1 that Manager @Cadleigh will have us playing.
Not a silent 'h' in sight!
To be honest I dont believe he could be any further forwards, if he plays as a WB in RM's current formation, he would be virtually be part of the front line anyway!
However I know what you mean he has the pace and trickery to replace Laird next season if he can get enough experience under his belt, then of course we would have Kyle Joseph coming back as well.
If I knew you were going to do a loan watch post @Mark_Jack_London you could have done an article on the website for us 😉
I've seen Garrick twice at wing back for them this season and he was honestly well off it both games. Good to hear he's improving. Never seemed a natural, either defensively or getting involved in build up play.
I watched Newport's last game with Bradford's commentary and they were purring over Ollie as the "engine" of County's side. Constant menace in the channels.
not sure there's enough there for a full article this week.
Good first half for Oli Cooper 2 assists, Jordan Garrick fine individual goal ,
Baker Richardson scores for Newport
Lowe scores for Bournemouth .
Minor point, but neither Lowe nor Baker-Richardson are loanees.
True but good to keep tabs nonetheless. Highlights our successes and failures in the transfer market.
Yes I know , I like to keep a track on ex Swan players
Connor Roberts on the bench for Burnley , good to see him back playing .
Agreed, but you had already commented on both in the Championship watch thread so why would you comment on them in a loan watch thread ? Just curious ...
There was a lot of comment on here about how disgusted people would be if we sold Grimes to a promotion rival but none that I recall about the notion of selling Lowe to one. Wonder why that was?
Perhaps because Matt was more important to us as part of the style we are trying to play as opposed to any particular formation
i think if Fulham had come up with the cash, Grimes would have gone.
We're not, not going to sell to a team because they are a rival or not. We will sell if it financially makes sense.
Also, Lowe asked to go. HE didnt think he fitted in with the new style. Russell didnt disagree, it seems.
Then a sensible move all round. Good luck to Jamal except when he plays us
I don’t see how that answers my question?
I wasn’t asking whether we would have sold Grimes to a Championship rival, or whether we should have sold him to a Championship rival, but why people were screaming that it would be folly to do so but just shrugged when Jamal - our second best goal scorer last season - was allowed to leave to another promotion contender.
Was it because by then most people had accepted that we are no longer promotion contenders, or something else about Jamal Lowe that made people less passionate about him than they were about Matthew Grimes?
Well Matty is one of our own, we bought him back in 2015. I believe before even Naughton? A lot more sentiment there especially given how much he's developed with us.
Maybe because a lot of our fans, like Jamal, realised that he was not going to work in RM's style.
And also it was a last minute, surprise deal. We made a profit on his sale. And we used the money wisely.
If we hadnt then I think the reaction would have been different.
Jordan's goal - it's the second one scored, the first Plymouth goal. Not sure what position he was playing yesterday. He has been right wing-back.
It's a great finish.
and his post match interview. such a character.
the number 28 Camara is not a bad player, some rough edges, plenty of pace. Impressed with him in the League Cup tie earlier this season.
Newport's second goal from Baker-Richardson's not a bad effort.
Exeter 2 - 2 Newport - Match Report & Highlights (skysports.com)
He played as striker alongside Wales' Under 21 striker Luke Jephcott.
Really? In his interview he talks about helping the strikers out by scoring more goals. That to me suggested he was playing somewhere else.
Wherever he was playing, he looks like he's making big strides.
Yep - reported on the Argyle website match report "Jordon Garrick moved up from wing back to take the vacant strikers’ spot".
And also in our Loan Watch article 😀
You sure you don't fancy writing some 😉
To even things up a bit here's a bit about Kyle Joseph. I saw the recent Cheltenham v Rotherham game with 2 Cheltenham season ticket holders. He is really rated by their supporters and scored on his debut. His problem is that he is in a very average side and at a club with meagre resources (average crowd 3,500ish). In the match he was finding great space but his teammates were two steps behind. His touch was good and he won a lot of aerial duels. Rotherham won the game easily 2-0 and look a good bet for promotion. Hopefully Kyle won't end up in a relegation dogfight with Cheltenham.
Oli Cooper another assist tonight for Newport.
Joseph scored 2 in five minutes tonight for CTFC. Should have had his hatrick apparently.
Video highlights of Kyle's goals from tonight's game.
