the owners have mentioned, several times, the commitment they have to paying historic instalments on players brought in - however, unless I’ve missed it - they fail to mention historic instalment payments received from sales - Sigurdsson, Llorente, Jack Cork- about 66m.
I can’t seem to make the figures match up. PL prize money, TV cash from previous seasons, current parachute money and recent sales (even if it was lower than reported) by far exceed outgoings. Even with a Previous wage bill of 99m pa, there are huge gaps! Surely, historic income vastly exceeds historic outgoings. If, however, money received was cash up front, then where did it go? It just doesn’t add up. Surely, the Trust must have access to basic accounting at least.
Also, the 25 or so other ‘investors’ - why would they be on board if they receive nothing? I wouldn’t put cash into an unknown commodity with no returns - it doesn’t add up.
Nothing adds up, and what irritates most is that the owners insult even the most basic intelligence with these statements. The ‘interview’ was so stage-managed. No mention of previous income from the players mentioned above. The Trust needs to demand to see transparent accounts.
