Get your Swans football fix supporting the Ladies team

With Steve Cooper’s men not in action this weekend due to the international break, fans looking for a Swans related football fix, could watch the Swans Ladies this Sunday instead.

Ian Owen’s side, who are unbeaten so far this season, entertain South Wales Women’s and Girls’ League Division One side Aberdare Town in the 2nd Round of the FAW Women’s Cup, having seen off Dafen Ladies in the first round last month.

The game will be a stern test for the Cynon valley side, who beat a very Tredegar side 2-1 in the first round thanks to goals from Maddie Hackett and Jodie-Lee Powell.

Although it is still early days, the Swans Ladies currently sit top of the Welsh Premier Women’s League after 5 games, having not conceded a goal and look in excellent form ahead of their quest for Cup glory.

The Ladies will be looking to progress in a competition they last won back in the 2017/18 season, after beating Cardiff City in the final at the Cardiff City stadium.

Former Cardiff Met Ladies captain and new Swans Ladies signing Tija Richardson could well make a start for the Swans, after returning to the club where she played as a youngster.

If you fancy going along to support the Swansea City Ladies this Sunday, the game kicks-off at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport (SA10 6JD) at 2pm with FREE entry.

Please note that parking is NOT available at the academy, so supporters are advised to park (free of charge) opposite the ground on the road alongside the David Lloyd leisure club.
