Some good and not so good comments below. Personally i thought Sanches was way out of hid depth in the game on Sunday as was Tammy, Cluson one of the permanent signings was also in that category. These young boys should first of all get expirence in the lower leagues not get chucked in at the deep end.

If Tammy and Sanches were any good they would be playing for their parent clubs. Unfortunately for Swans supporters they have been sent to us to see how they get on. Do the board not realize that they have to blend experienced players in the premiership .I think the business done in the transfer dealing has been shocking. With Siggy ,and Lorente gone we are very thin on the ground with genuine Premiership players.

Agreed and disagree...

I agree it wasnt a particularly good transfer window... I dont think we are particularly better squad from last season...

But you say players like tammy cluckas and sanches need to play lower down in the leagues...
Tammy was 2nd top scorer in the championship last season... Clucas played for a premier league club last season (yes iknow Hull were relegated... But he was one of their better players... And has also played lower leagues too)
Sanches... Well hecomes from BM... I do agree he wasnt ready on Sunday... Only been here a day n half before being flung in...

The whole team played shite on Sunday... I expect them to get a lot better when they start gelling and actually get to know each other...
But it will take time...

I am disappointed as the next swan... And i said months ago that my concern is how quickly these players will take getting up to speed.

Not bad results for the first 3 games... 4th was extremely disappointing... But thats 4 games... How long before these players start getting up to speed? 6? 8? 10?...
Lets hope we can get there quickly... But still very concerned.

Howard, spot on - we should have got the Chadli deal done too

not fair to put pressure on youngsters, BUT i hope they come good, the potential is there but a VERY RISKY strategy by the club

As for Clucas, i don't know enough about him but what i saw on saturday worried me. Nowhere near a £12m or whatever we paid for him player but everyone says he was played out of position - i hope he has the mental strength to succeed as he looked a bit shell shocked to me

mg would you be prepared to pay £28m for an out of favour WBA reserve? PC seems happy with Bony and Sanches and Abraham are his personal picks. Clucas as well probably. Mesa will have to make a case for his inclusion probably being a club choice to replace Leon. If he was on the fringes of the Spanish team he must be quality. It seems to me PC has the tools he wanted and just needs to make it work. As a new group of younger players one would expect them to improve down the line. Remember Llorente last year's standout player was barely visible before January.

i don't think you can compare Llorente with youngsters and we had Bob in charge pre Xmas so to be fair, everyone was dire and yes i would have spent money on Chadli, not sure where you got £27m from but yes, we should have gone for him cos we have the money in the bank

the point i have repeatedly made is - putting our future in the hands of youngsters is risky and losing our 2 best players is a disaster yet people on here were jumping up and down with joy AND PC was misled about both Siggy and Llorenet so he is probably still crafting a strategy to counter those massive losses

Pc has signed the players he wanted.
He has a good squad of players
Now its up to him to pick the right team
Ok he likesbthis diamond formation.
Pick it for away games.
But lets try and win the home games.

You want to talk to the derby fans about pc

thats fine Dai but lets also be fair to PC. Lets not go down the road of -
1. bad loss, its PC's fault cos he picked the wrong team or formation
2. good win but not due to PC but cos of Leon

PC came in last season and we were at our absolute bottom of premier league existence. He along with others (e.g. Llorente, Siggy and Leon) put in superb performances to rescue us. Sometimes we played safe but it worked for the situation we were in then. He sorted the defence out and should be congratulated for that. As i have stated previously, he will sort our attack out too.

As I have said one injury saved us last year.
And I still stand by it he picked the wrong team sat.
Just hope he can park the bus sat
But try and win the home games.
I can't help it I just don't like his style of football.
If it keeps us upnallnwell and good.
But I do prefer 5 in midfield with pacey wingers running synthetic full backs much more exciting

I rarely agree with Ponty, but Chadli for £20m+ - no chance!

mg Wednesday, 13 September 2017 15:41
i would have taken chadli and left clucas at hull which might have cost about £10m more, money better spent in my humble opinion
