The Swansea City Ladies play the last ever Welsh Premier Women’s League game against Abergavenny Women at Llandarcy this weekend, knowing that a point will be enough for them to secure a second successive Women’s League Title.
As the Ladies lifted the Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup on Wednesday evening thanks to the 4-1 victory over Cardiff City Women, the prospect of doing the double on Sunday will provide further motivation for Colin Staple’s side.
The Swans Ladies have been in excellent form this season, remaining unbeaten and having only dropped 4 points in 15 games. In a similar vein to the Men’s team, the miserly defence has conceded just 1 goal in the league, whilst finding the net 53 times.
The last meeting between Abergavenny and the Swans, was back in April at the Pen-Y-Pound Stadium, when the Swans ran out 2 nil winners thanks to goals from Chloe Chivers.
Should the Swans Ladies be crowned champions, then they can look forward to another UEFA Women’s Champions League adventure, starting with the Preliminary round draw on 21 June.
