With Women’s football becoming increasingly more popular, the news that Swansea City Ladies are holding Girls Development Trials for various age groups next month is another boost for the game in Wales.
Formed in 2002, the Swans Ladies were one of the founder members of the Welsh Premier Women’s League in 2009/10 and have been Premier League champions on 3 occasions.
They are also no strangers to the UEFA Women’s Champions League, having represented Wales in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2016/17.
In fact, since the 2015/16 season, manager Ian Owen and his team have won silverware every season and are the current Welsh Women’s Cup holders.
As the club look to build for the future, they are now holding girls development trials at U10, U11, U12, U14 and U16 level for players who live within the West Wales Football Association area.
As the trials are for development teams, players who are currently with clubs are eligible to stay with their current club and, if successful, play for the development team as well.
