Crystal Palace Ground Plan

Selhurst Park Map

Crystal Palace on Saturday 26th August 2017 at 15:00

Address: Selhurst Park, London SE25 6PU
Telephone: 0208 768 6000
Web Site: www.cpfc.co.uk

What’s It Like
Up to 2,000 Swans fans are in the Arthur Wait Stand. If you are near the back you’ll have little leg room and the views are not brilliant, due to the overhang of the roof plus supporting pillars.

One small refreshment area caters for the whole away support selling handmade pies or a ‘Mighty Burger’ which is £10. Normal burgers are £4.50, Hot Dogs, Falafel Vegetarian Burgers and Seasoned Wedges are sold. Curry is available along with Thai Sweet Chilli Noodles and Teriyaki Noodles. Carlsberg, Somersby cider and wine is sold.

Visiting London
This time of year there’s numerous pantomimes in the theatres of London. If you want to see one, be sure to book in advance as much as possible to ensure getting tickets. Have a look at Discount London for price reductions on any tickets for shows or attractions you plan on visiting.

The O2 (SE10 0DX) has a long term interactive exhibition with loads of models and props – Star Wars Identities with tickets from £15 – £25.

On the night of the game, Hammersmith Apollo (W6 9QH) brings a huge drag night to life with The Drag Ball, tickets are £41.

Pubs and Grub
The ‘Clifton Arms’ (SE25 6NJ) is the nearest pub to the ground. Away fans only get in if they arrive early. After 1pm it’s Palace season ticket holders only past the doorman.

I’ve been to the ‘Prince George’ (CR7 8LE) on Thornton Heath High Street. It has a couple of take-away a few doors away, and a convenience store and off-licence opposite, it also has Sky TV.

Opposite Thornton Heath Railway Station is ‘The Flora Sandes’ (CR7 7JG), a Wetherspoons pub. It’s popular with home and away fans and a 15 minute walk to the ground. There are plenty of kebab & chip shops on route to the ground.

Nearby is ‘The Railway Telegraph’ (CR7 7JJ) – from the station cross the road and turn right, walk for 100 yards. ‘Two Brewers’ on Gloucester Road (CR0 2DW) is near Selhurst Railway Station. Pubs near Norwood Junction Railway Station are ‘Shelverdine Goathouse’ (SE 25 6EP), former ‘The William Stanley’ close by is ‘The Ship’ (CR0 1QD).

Parking
There’s street parking around the ground, but look for residents only bays. Some street parking is pay and display with 4 hour limits.

Train
The nearest stations are Selhurst or Thornton Heath, served by London Victoria main line station, Clapham Junction, London Bridge (every 30 mins) and East Croydon (every 15 mins). You can use Norwood Junction station which is also served by Victoria, but is further away and a 10-15 minute walk.

Note: Crystal Palace station is nowhere near the ground.

Trains Swansea to Thornton Heath are at 07:05 and 08:05 for the 5.5 hour trip. Coming back, trains are at 17:53 and 19:23 getting in at 23:47 and 00:54.

There is engineering work between Cardiff and Newport and replacement buses are in place which adds to the journey time.

The Alliance is closed as is the Portmanor. My advice is to stick with the pubs in Thornton Heath if you can. If you must go to Norwood Junction then the William Stanley is the best bet.
