I wasn't sure whether this post was going to be negative or positive but glad to see it's the latter.
I think from day one the way Luke acts and the way he talks publicly is not that different from Russell Martin except he does it with better execution.
As for tactics I think we can agree that Luke hasn't and won't always get it right in future but I do have one point to settle this.
At the last fans forum when asked a question about preferred formation going forward he gave a very candid response about his time as assistant to Russell Martin at MK Dons and Swansea. In a nutshell he confirmed to me at least that between him and Russell; he was the tactical one which is why the latter needs so many different people to help him or his shortcomings are exposed.
If you have good man management skills and can make tough everyday decisions then you're pretty much set. Tactics and all the other stuff is just an added bonus for me.
Brian Clough and Bobby Robson were two examples of great man managers but not known as tactical geniuses and they didn't do too badly now did they.
