SeaJack is right to put the first round of results into perspective by referring to
what is coming up .
When John Toshack was manager Alan Waddle scored many goals including
one hat trick (against who I have forgotten). At the time Toshack is known for
describing the hat trick as "one swallow doesn't make a summer."
The same can be said for the euphoria here after Saturday when we think carefully
about the experience, strength and competitiveness they will come up against
over the next few months if players leave us with cheap replacements. Will they
all thank the fans like Alfie did?
One example of the over hyped excitement is delving into the past for the glow
over Jeff M. We must remember that when the warm weather gives way to wet
and cold Swansea his opponents double up on him and he often ends up with
a lengthy injury. A possibility of course is to allow him another loan to the
sunnier climes before he will be classed as a "foreigner" in March 2019. ;)
