Just 16 hours to find out who will come and who will go

So, with us now being a Premier League team, we don’t have the luxury of the loan market to fall back on in case we need to strengthen our squad.

Therefore, with under 16 hours to go until the end of the Transfer window, the question is ‘who will come and who will go’

Who will come in
Brendan has made it clear that he wants some reinforcements in defence and defender Matt Bates from Middlesborough has been mooted as an arrival. However, with some medical issues in the past, you wonder whether he will be the person Brendan goes for. David Edgar from Burnley has again been mentioned as someone that might come in and Brendan showed he likes him by going for him in the last deadline window.

Rogers has also been looking for some new midfield additions to bring some added goals to this area. Henri Lansbury was rumoured to be having a medical at Wolves yesterday and so could be tempted to move to Wales if a deal can be agreed with Arsenal.

The club has been very tight lipped on their targets and rightly so as deadline day is all about who plays their cards close to their chest. However, I would not be surprised to see 3 new players coming in, 1 from a Premier League club and 2 from overseas. The club has made a habit in the past of pulling a player from the blue and so I would not be surprised to see this repeated today!

Who will go
With Sean Mac and Ryan Harley already surplus to requirements, I would not be surprised to see a few players leave the Liberty during today’s window. Craig Beattie is working hard to show other clubs he can still offer something and I would be amazed if Beatts was still at the club this time tomorrow. David Cotterill is another who is not part of Brendan’s long term plans and so he could be on his way. However, his new ‘double your money’ wages could be a challenge for a number of clubs.

I don’t expect to see Tom Butler leave and with us being short of options in defence, the only departures I can see here will be short term loans for some of the young kids (like Dan Alfei) to lower league clubs to help them get experience.

With midfield an area that Brendan wants to add to, I would not be surprised to see one of the midfielders go with Andrea Orlandi the most likely to leave after his very average performance at Shrewsbury last Tuesday night

So, whatever happens today, its now or never until Jan. We need to get our business arranged today or its rely on the squad we have! We could see a number come in but with players taking time to adjust to our style, I would say its 2 or 3 at the most with a couple leaving at the same time!

We shall see!
