Swans head to Spain, Russia & Switzerland for Europa League

Europa LeagueAfter victories against Malmo and Petrolul Ploiesti in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, the Swans have today found out their opponents in the group draw of the Uefa Europa League.

The Swans were seeded in Pot 2 and were the first team drawn out in Group A so meaning that we joined Valencia who were in Pot 1 as top seeds.

Kuban Krasnodar from Russia were the next team drawn out and St Gallen from Switzerland completed the group which is one of the toughest out of all 12 groups.

The dates for the home and away fixtures have given the Swans the toughest possible start to the group as they head to Valencia on September 19th for their first game with the group stages finishing on December 12th when Saint Gallen come to the Liberty Stadium.

Details of each of the fixtures are below but Swans fans will now need to look at the Premier League games following these games which will now be moved to a Sunday as a result of us progressing through to the next round.

Nov 7 – (a) Kuban
Nov 28 – (h) Valencia
Dec 12 – (a) St Gallen

Southampton Away – Originally planned for Sat 5th Oct but now likely (not confirmed and so please don’t make travel plans based on this article!!) to move to Sunday 6th Oct

West Ham Home – Originally planned for Sat Oct 26th but now likely (not confirmed and so please don’t make travel plans based on this article!!) to move to Sunday Oct 27th

Stoke Home – Originally planned for Sat Nov 9th but now likely (not confirmed and so please don’t make travel plans based on this article!!) to move to Sunday Nov 10th

Man City Away – Originally planned for Sat Nov 30th but now likely (not confirmed and so please don’t make travel plans based on this article!!) to move to Sunday 1st Dec

Norwich Away – Originally planned for Sat Dec 14th but now likely (not confirmed and so please don’t make travel plans based on this article!!) to move to Sunday 15th Dec

It is certainly an exciting time to be a Swans fan and with Christmas coming and trips to Spain, Russia and Switzerland on the agenda, players and fans alike will be clocking up some air miles to see if we can progress through to the final 32!
