Young Bartley joined the Swans from Arsenal on 16th August 2012 for a reported fee of £1 million but was loaned out to Birmingham City in July 2013 by then Swans manager Michael Laudrup.
Bartley played 19 times for the Blues and scored 5 goals before being called back by the Swans in January 2014.
This season Bartley has been restricted to just 9 appearances for the Swans after a 6 week lay off in February, due to suffering a meniscus tear in his knee during training.
It was a cruel blow for the young defender who was beginning to show some real promise in his centre-back partnership with Swans skipper Ashley Williams.
He has obviously impressed the current gaffer too and has a contract with Swans until June 2017.
