Swans Ladies face local rivals in League Cup

The quarter-final draw for the Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup was made yesterday afternoon, with the Swans Ladies being drawn against Port Talbot Town Ladies.

Despite winning the trophy back in 2016 with a 4-0 win over PILCS, a heartbreaking defeat in the 2017 final on penalties to Cardiff Met, cruelly denied the Swans a League and Cup double.

Ian Owen’s team will look to secure their place in the League Cup semi-finals, when the two sides meet for the local derby at Victoria Road on Sunday, 2 December 2018.

Port Talbot, who are currently unbeaten in the WPWL this season, having already beaten Llandudno Ladies and drawn with reigning league champions Cardiff Metropolitan Ladies, are sure to prove a stern test, in what is always a keenly contested encounter between the two sides.
