Swans face Manchester City in FA Cup 5th Round

Manchester City are confirmed as the Swans FA Cup 5th Round opponents, after the Citizens finally overcame a stubborn Cheltenham Town 3-1 on Saturday evening.

Just hours earlier, the Swans has secured their place in the next round after a 5-1 hammering of Nottingham Forest at the Liberty Stadium.

The 5th Round game between the sides at the Liberty Stadium is likely to be played on or around Wednesday, 10 February 2021.

It will give Steve Cooper’s men a useful benchmark of their progress against one of the top teams in the Premier League, where the Swans hope to be playing next season.

The occasion will also provide the Swans with an opportunity to get revenge for their controversial FA Cup exit at the Quarter-Final stage at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s side back in March 2019.

Of course one downside to the Swans FA Cup run is the backlog of Championship fixtures they will face at will is a crucial time of the season.
