Swans game against Hatters postponed

Given the increasing number of Omicron cases in the UK, perhaps it was inevitable that another Swans Championship game would be postponed, following on from the Millwall game, which was due to be played on Boxing Day and the QPR game last Saturday.

It probably came as no surprise to anyone, that the Swans this afternoon confirmed that the Championship game against Luton Town on Wednesday, 29 December has now also been postponed, due to an additional number of positive COVID-19 cases within the Swansea City playing squad.

The club has worked hard to ensure that it has been able to fulfil the fixture, however, taking into account injuries and positive COVID-19 cases, the club does not have a sufficient number of players available in order to fulfil the fixture.

With several other Championship games also having been called-off, it looks like an already hectic Championship campaign is going to get a lot worse for many teams, including Russell Martin’s Swansea City.
