Four Swans selected for Wales Under 18 squad

Wales Under 18s coach Rob Edwards has named a 22-player squad for a friendly tournament in Croatia next month including four Swansea City players.

The Swans quartet are Kai Ludvigsen, Joel Cotterill, Cameron Congreve and Ben Lloyd.

It has been quite a season for the young Swans, with Cameron Congreve making five senior Swansea City appearances and both Ben Lloyd and Joel Cotterill featuring in the senior match day squad selected by Russell Martin. Whilst Kai Ludvigsen has been offered a new contract by the club.

The tournament will take place in Lucko and Zagreb, with Cymru’s opening match against Croatia taking place on Tuesday 7 June.

Several of the players involved for Cymru faced England U18s in a 1-1 draw last September, and both sides will face each other again in the tournament on Friday 10 June. The final match against Austria will then take place on Monday 13 June.

The fixtures are seen as the ideal preparation for next season’s UEFA U19 Qualifying Round, which will be hosted in Wales, with Cymru having been drawn against the Republic of Ireland, Hungary, and Gibraltar.
