Swans Ladies to play Swindon Town in pre-season friendly

With clubs returning to training over the next couple of weeks in preparation for the 2023-2024 season, Swindon Town Women have announced an exciting pre-season friendly against Genero Adran Premier Swansea City Ladies.

The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday 30 July (2pm), which is being played at Foundation Park, promises to be an interesting encounter between the FA Women’s National League Division One South West hosts and Genero Adran Premier Swans.

Swindon’s manager Mike Cook Cook is looking forward to the game, with the Robins hoping to understand the tactical and technical differences between the respective leagues the sides play, in the home it will help his side push on this season as they attempt to gain promotion to Tier 3 in England.

The match will also no doubt provide Swans Ladies boss Ceri Phillips with a chance to look at his squad, with several different players likely to be in contention for places ahead of the upcoming Genero Adran Premier season, which kicks-off on Sunday 17 September, with the Swans looking to regain the league title after finishing runners up to Cardiff City last season.

One player who is more than likely to feature for the Swans however is Stacey John-Davis, who celebrated her tenth season as a Swan during the last campaign. Not bad for someone who turned 31 during the 2022-2023 campaign, whilst scoring 15 times to finish as the Genero Adran Premier’s top scorer for the third season in a row.

For any Swansea fans planning on attending the game, Foundation Park is adjacent to League Two Swindon Town’s County Ground, which has ample parking and the post code is SN1 2FD.
