Background:
Australian born Gillet became the first foreign referee in English football when he took charge of the Sky Bet League One game between Fleetwood Town and Bristol Rovers last weekend.

The 32-year-old has been an A-League referee since 2010 and has moved to the UK to study at Liverpool’s John Moore University.

The FIFA official is keen to continue as a referee and will join PGMOL’s (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) Select Group 2 for the start of the 2019/20 season.

Gillet made his EFL Championship debut in the Blackburn Rovers v Swans game in May 2019.
