Wigan Athletic v Swansea City Free Betting Tips and Predictions

This Tuesday sees Swansea City travel to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic in the Football League Championship.

Wigan suffered a 1-0 defeat on Saturday to Norwich City but overall they have made a bright start to their first season back in the Championship and currently sit just below Swansea on goal difference in the league table.

Wigan’s home form has been their strength this season, as they have won four and drawn one of their five games at the DW Stadium, which has accounted for 13 of the 16 points they have picked up thus far.

Swansea recorded their biggest victory of the season on Saturday in their 3-0 win against QPR and will be full of confidence for their midweek encounter with the Latics in front of the Sky TV cameras.

Swansea have taken 8 points from 15 on their travels this season but this has been a good return from a tricky set of fixtures and a number of key players missing from the squad in this time.

Wigan Athletic v Swans Match Predictions
Wigan’s home form has been impressive so far this season, but I do feel that the bookmakers are slightly underestimating a Swansea side for this game.

Swansea have been hampered in recent weeks to a series of injuries to their midfield with Bersant Celina, Leroy Fer, Tom Carroll and Jay Fulton all missing games recently, but Graham Potter had each of these players available for last weekend’s 3-0 victory.

Despite these injuries, the Swans were able to pick up a point away to Middlesbrough recently and earlier successes in the season at Sheffield United, and at Millwall when Swansea had to play with ten men for 86 minutes.

Those results show that the Swans will provide a stern test for anyone in this division on their travels this season.

I’d suggest backing the Swans draw no bet and this is available at 19/10 (2.95) with Marathon Bet and Smarkets at the time of writing.

For those unsure with this type of bet, you are betting on the Swans to win the game, but if the game is a draw you will have your stake money refunded to you.

For First Goalscorer backers, I’d suggest backing Jay Fulton who is 25/1 (26.00) with BetBright.

Jay had a loan spell at the DW Stadium last season but didn’t enjoy as much game time as he would have liked and will no doubt be keen to make an impression on his return.

Jay has bagged a couple of goals already this season and a small investment on him increasing that tally is the choice here.

Bet Recommendations
Swansea draw no bet: 19/10 (2.95) Marathon Bet, Smarkets.
First Goalscorer: Jay Fulton – 25/1 (26.00) BetBright.
