Swans opponents for next season confirmed

With the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final ending in defeat for Huddersfield Town, the Swans now know the all of the teams they will be facing in the 2022-2023 EFL Championship.

Joining the Championship from the Premier League will be relegated sides Burnley, Watford and Norwich City, whilst Wigan Athletic, Rotherham United and Sunderland join, having been promoted from League One.

Aside from having the south Wales derby to look forward to once again, there will be several other fixtures which will be of interest.

The games against Burnley will see the return of the Crynant Cafu, Connor Roberts, not to mention another former Swan in the shape of Jack Cork. The last time the two sides met, was in the Premier League in February 2018.

And then there is Norwich City, the club at which current Swans boss Russell Martin made his name as a player and spent eight years of his playing career.

These games will be sure to make for interesting reunions and of the other sides now in the Championship, it will be the first in in nearly five years that the Swans will have played Sunderland. The last encounter between the sides was the Swans 2-0 Premier League win at the Stadium of Light in May 2017.

Of course it is a case of as you were for the remaining sides in the Championship and fans will only have to wait a few more weeks until the 2022-2023 EFL Championship fixtures are released on June 23.

One thing we know for sure and that is the travelling Jacks will once again clock up hundreds of extra miles next season given the locations of the relegated and newly promoted teams. Anyone fancy flying to Norwich or Sunderland?
