Swansea City were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle as they suffered a penalty shootout defeat at League One Oxford United.
The Swans who lead 2-0 at half time thanks to goals from Jay Fulton and Liam Cullen, seemed to be cruising into the second round until a disastrous final 18 minutes where they conceded two sloppy goals to allow Oxford to force the game to a penalty shoot-out.
It was a bitterly disappointing defeat in front of the 873 Swansea fans at the Kassam Stadium.
On a more positive note, there were debuts for Academy youngsters Azeem Abdulai and Joel Cotterill from the bench, with Joe Allen making his first Swansea appearance in 3,741 days.
The Swans now turn their attention to the Championship and the trip to Blackpool on Saturday, 13 August at 3pm.
