Hampshire born official Keith Stroud has been appointed the referee for the visit of Hull City to the Swansea.com stadium this Saturday.
It will be the first time that Stroud has officiated a Swans or Hull City game so far this season, and he will be assisted by Ian Cooper and Sam Lewis, with Craig Hicks the 4th Official for the game, which is being shown live on Sky Sports.
Stroud isn’t exactly the most popular of referees with Swansea fans or managers over recent seasons, although the last Swansea City game he oversaw was the 3-1 win over Bristol City at the Swansea.com stadium back in February this year.
If you take a closer look at Keith Stroud’s statistics when officiating Swansea City games, you’ll understand why he isn’t held in great esteem by the Jack Army.
Ironically, Stroud officiated the Swansea City v Hull City fixture when the teams last met in South Wales in September 2021, with the game ending in a goalless draw.
