Match Highlights – Swansea City 1 Southampton 3

Swansea City fell to defeat against Southampton at the Swansea.com Stadium in a match where four first-half goals settled the outcome.

Southampton took an early lead with goals from Che Adams and Will Smallbone, the latter controversially standing despite a clear offside in the build-up. Jamie Paterson scored for the Swans, but Flynn Downes restored Southampton’s lead to make it 3-1 at halftime.

The second half saw no further goals, but Swansea had a strong finish, creating numerous chances in the closing 20 minutes. However, Charlie Patino, Jerry Yates, and Paterson were unable to convert, hitting the woodwork at times. Head coach Luke Williams will take positives from his side’s battling performance against a strong Southampton team.

Williams made one change from the previous draw at Birmingham, bringing in Harrison Ashby for the injured Sam Parker, while Liam Cullen celebrated his 100th appearance for Swansea City.
