Williams feels Swans are demonstrating the qualities needed to become a strong team

Head coach Luke Williams believes Swansea City are starting to show the qualities needed to become a top team after their 2-1 win over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park extended their unbeaten run to four games.

Goals from Jay Fulton and Liam Cullen secured the victory, with the Swans demonstrating their attacking quality and ability to control possession. Superb deliveries from Josh Tymon and Myles Peart-Harris set up excellent finishes from Fulton and Cullen, showcasing Swansea’s composure in front of goal.

After Mustapha Bundu pulled one back for the hosts, Swansea had to dig deep defensively. Despite Plymouth pushing hard in the closing stages, the Swans held firm, not allowing a single clear-cut chance, and moved into the top 10 of the Championship.

Williams praised his team for blending their attacking flair with a resilient defensive display, further highlighting their progress this season.

“I was pleased with the performance tonight,” said the Swans boss.

“We have played some really good football and created some decent chances, but we also showed that strength that is becoming a big part of our characteristics as a team.

“So I was pleased to see both sides of the game from us tonight. The opposition definitely had a desire to try and correct their recent run and they made it very, very tough for us.

“We had to stand up to a lot of pressure. We wobbled a little bit at times but we were able to get a foothold again and it is really pleasing to see because it means you can win games in a different fashion. If we want to be a really good side we have to be able to do that.”
