5 years ago in 2011 – The Swans went down to a 1 nil defeat at Everton in the Barclays Premier League. In a dour game, Brendan Rodgers’ team parked the bus for long periods of the game and a Danny Graham header was the Swans only attempt on target. The defeat meant the Swans remained without an away win in their debut Premier League season.

14 years ago in 2002 – The Swans lost 1 nil to Leyton Orient at the Vetch field in front of a Nationwide Football League Division Three crowd of 4,120. The defeat meant that Brian Flynn’s men sank to the bottom of the table.

15 years ago in 2001 – Two goals in the space of 3 minutes gave the Swans a 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers at the Vetch Field in Nationwide Football League Division Three.

The 2,734 crowd were treated to an entertaining afternoon, with the Swans coming from behing a goal down after just 3 minutes to take all the points thanks to goals from Mamady Sidibé and Steve Watkin. Rovers also had two men sent-off in the last five minutes! The victory saw the Swans move up 3 places in the league table to 16th under the guidance of Colin Addison.

20 years ago in 1996 – A brace from Dave Penney gave the Swans a 2-1 win at Exeter City in Nationwide Football League Division Three. The win saw Jan Molby’s team move up to 5th place in the league table.

37 years ago in 1979 – Orient beat the Swans 1 nil at the Vetch Field in front of a 10,352 crowd for the Football League Second Divison game.

42 years ago in 1974 – Goals from Robbie James and Paul Bevan earned the Swans a 2-1 win at Reading in the Football League Fourth Division.
