Tuesday, 9 October 2001
Nationwide Football League Division Three leaders Rochdale, won 1 nil at the Vetch Field, as new chairman Tony Petty watched from the stands. The 3,533 crowd saw Swans manager Colin Addison and his assistant Peter Nicholas hand Swansea born midfielder Craig Draper a debut, on what turned out to be a miserable night for the home side, who ended the game with only 10 men after right back Lee Jenkins was stretchered off.

Friday, 9 October 1998
A crowd of 5,180 witnessed the Swans drew 1-1 with Rotherham United at the Vetch Field in Nationwide League Division Three, thanks to a second half equaliser for John Hollin’s side from Martin Thomas.
Saturday, 9 October 1993
The Swans and Blackpool played out at entertaining 4-4 draw at the Vetch Field in Endsleigh Insurance League Division Two. The 3,775 crowd enjoyed goals from Colin Pascoe, John Cornforth, Martin Hayes and Keith ‘Sky’ Walker in a pulsating game between the mid-table Swans, under manager Frank Burrows, and their 4th placed opponents. The game was officiated by none other than Llanbradach born referee, Rodger Gifford.

First Division Tottenham Hotspur thumped the then Barclays League Division Three Swans, 5-1 in a Rumbelows League Cup 2nd Round 2nd Leg game at White Hart Lane, to win the tie 5-2 on aggregate after the Swans historic 1 nil victory a couple of weeks earlier at the Vetch. Unfortunately all the Swans had to show for the return leg was an 82nd minute consolation goal from substitute Shaun Chapple, with Derek Brazil’s own goal merely adding to the misery for Frank Burrows and his men.

A 9th minute goal from David D’Auria was enough for the Swans to take home the points, as they beat bottom side Aldershot 1 nil at the Recreation Ground in front of a Barclays League Division Three crowd of just 2,809.

Saturday, 9 October 1982
The Swans drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion in a First Division fixture at the Vetch Field in front of a 11,050 crowd. Manager John Toshack was grateful to a second half equaliser from defender Dudley Lewis, his first for the club, ensured the points were shared between the mid-table placed teams.

A Vetch Field crowd of 15,285 watched the Swans beat Watford 1 nil, thanks to Alan Waddle’s first half goal, in a Football League Division Two fixture.
Saturday, 9 October 1976
Harry Griffiths Swans lost 2-1 at Torquay United in the Fourth Division, despite taking a 5th minute lead through defender Eddie May.
