The Premier League is considered by many fans and pundits as THE best league in world football. Whilst that opinion is open to debate, there is no arguing that it is certainly one of the most exciting, especially when you consider the rich history (and finances!) of some of the teams involved.
Little wonder then that clubs in the Premier League get such large followings – regardless of the size of their stadium and location. With such a huge interest in the Premier League, it’s not just the clubs that have benefited, football bet sites, such as Paddy Power odds have also gained massively from the leagues popularity both here in the UK and abroad.
But where do all the fans of clubs come from and why do people decide to support a certain club? Well the infographic below has some of the answers.
In my case, I started following the Swans in the mid-nineties, when I met my then boyfriend – now husband! He had supported the Swans since his Dad had taken him to the Vetch Field as an 8 year old boy back in the early eighties.
So why do you follow the Swans – is it a family thing? Or do you just support your local football team. Whatever the reason, we’d love to know, so leave a comment below and let us know why you follow the Jacks.
