The Swans Under 23s made the trip to JD Cymru Premier side Haverfordwest County for a pre-season friendly on the weekend. A crowd of almost 200 watched the young Swans continue their impressive pre-season form, with a comfortable 5-2 win at Bridge Meadow against Pembrokeshire’s very own Bluebirds. The Bluebirds with plenty of Swans connections …
No official report so far as I know, other than snippets on Haverfordwest’s Twitter account, so here’s a quick summary. In line with changes across the development leagues in English football, the Swans Under 23s will now play as Swansea City Under 21s for the upcoming 2022-2023 Professional Development League season. The amendment to the age limit, which was under-23 last season, has been introduced as part of an ongoing review of the Premier League’s …
An entertaining game, one that we mostly dominated but paid the price by not killing the match off well before the visitors unexpectedly got back in. Recognisable but fluid U23 setup: 3-1-5-1. Hansen in goal; middle trio of Ludvigsen, Rushesha, Stafford; Abudalai the deepest midfielder, with 2 advanced wingbacks Joe Thomas and Lincoln McFayden; Yan Dhanda …
A very pleasing and entertaining game on home turf. We won 5-1 but could have had double figures, such was our dominance. Back 3 of Cameron Evans, Tiv Rushesha and recent recruit Jack Stafford; wingbacks Ogbeta on the left, Lincoln McFayden on the right; middle grouping of Azeem Abdulai in front of the back 3 …
Swansea City Under 23s travel to Romford this Friday to take on West Ham United Under 23s in a Premier League Cup Group fixture at 2pm. It is the final Group F fixture for Kristian O’Leary’s side, who are yet to win a game in the competition, having drawn three and lost two of their …
The Swans lined up with Southend trialist Harry Seaden in goal; a middle three of Cam Evans, Tiv Rushesha and skipper Ben Erickson; wingbacks Joe Thomas and Lincoln McFayden; a deep lying Azeem Abdulai with Sam Leverett, Ben Lloyd and Cameron Congreve supporting Forrester in the lone striker role. Swans conceded on 15 minutes – …
No need to repeat too much of the facts of the game – there’s even a blog on it by West Ham with a promise of a video to follow. We were pretty decent most of the match. Played a fluid 3-4-2-1 formation: Erickson right side, Brandon Cooper middle, Margetson left side of defence; Harry Jones …
Not a very encouraging performance, particularly given the apparent strength of our starting eleven. We opened promisingly enough – Dhanda and Morgan Whittaker each creating chances for themselves in the first 15 minutes. Then 2 avoidable goals in quick succession – the first on 19 minutes through playing in the wrong places. Possession was lost on …
