Highlights of Swans Under 23s win at Haverfordwest

The Swans Under 23s made the trip to JD Cymru Premier side Haverfordwest County for a pre-season friendly on the weekend.

A crowd of almost 200 watched the young Swans continue their impressive pre-season form, with a comfortable 5-2 win at Bridge Meadow against Pembrokeshire’s very own Bluebirds.

The Bluebirds with plenty of Swans connections in their ranks, including Head of Coaching Gary ‘Waggy’ Richards, manager Tony Pennock and former player Jazz Richards, fell behind after just 9 minutes when Joe Thomas opened the scoring for the Swans.

Joel Cotterill put the Swans 2-0 up on 22 minutes, before Joe Thomas got his second and the Swans third just 3 minutes later.

The home side did reduce the deficit on 32 minutes when Dylan Rees scored, but the Swans responded within a minute thanks to Nathanael Ogbeta and went into the half-time break leading 4-1.

Haverfordwest got their second goal on 64 minutes courtesy of Jack Wilson, before substitute Corey Hurford wrapped up the scoring for the Swans on 80 minutes, as the away side ran out comfortable winners.
