Zambian International having trial at Swansea City

The Swans are expected to announce later today that the club is giving a two-month trial to 23 year old Zambian International midfielder Kenya Dewitt.

Dewitt who currently plays for Mochudi Central Fighters Sporting Club in the Botswana Football Association Regional 2nd Division, is rumoured to be a quick and strong attacking midfielder, whom has gained international honours for Zambia at U6, U8, U10, U12, U15, U17, U20 and U23 level.

The soon to be 24 year old boasts an impressive goalscoring record, having been joint second top goal scorer at former club Katanga Rangers with 9 goals and top goal scorer at junior club Young Boys Botswana with 12 goals.

It is understood the player will be accompanied to Wales by his father, Na-Kanna Dewitt and well known African football agent Seymore Butts.

Our source at the Swans state-of-the-art training base in Fairwood, believes that Paul Clement sees Dewitt as ideal competition for Leroy Fer, as well as back-up for midfield talisman Gylfi Sigurdsson.

It is thought that Clement will look to make the experienced, but youthful, Zambian his first Summer signing – should he impress during his two-month trial in south Wales.

We are unsure at this stage how the player came to be picked up on the Swans recruitment radar, but it is believed that initial contact was made with the club via an email sent during the January transfer window to Huw Jenkins by the players agent Seymore Butts.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing the team here at SCFC2 HQ hadn’t had a chance to see Dewitt in action.

Sadly, if the truth be known, we really don’t think he’ll make the grade and Dewitt at the Swans.
