What are the biggest Swans transfer rumours?

Life at the Liberty Stadium is never dull for Swansea fans as the arrival of new boss Steve Cooper showed recently.

Many fans will hope that he can help build on the solid work done by old boss Graham Potter last season to make a real Premier League promotion push.

Although tenth was decent enough, all Swans fans will be desperate to make it back into the top English league sooner rather than later.

As the new season edges closer, many believe that Cooper needs to review the current squad and add some quality players to the ranks.

Of course, it could mean Cooper letting some players go the other way too.

What transfer rumours are swirling around South Wales and the Liberty Stadium currently?

It can be worthwhile looking on betting sites online first to see if they are offering odds on any potential moves.

Very often, this can be the sign of something about to happen. If you feel sure that it will happen, you could also put a little wager on to make some money!

It is not just football that this happens in – many other sports, including ice hockey, give similar opportunities.

For those who like to use digital currency to bet with, Sportsbet.io Bitcoin sports betting on hockey, basketball, tennis and of course, football, is available.

To give you a head-start on what may be about to happen in the transfer market for Swansea though, we take a look at some of the most talked about possible deals.

Loan move for Chelsea starlet
One hot rumour doing the rounds at the moment is Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer heading to Wales.

An attacking midfielder, Palmer is highly thought of in West London and would benefit greatly from getting some playing time with Swansea.

With Leroy Fer gone and Tom Carroll maybe leaving too, it would be a smart move by Cooper to get some more bodies in this area of the squad.

Palmer would certainly bring verve, energy, flair and ball skills to Swansea. A season-long loan is what is been talked about, so watch this space!

Ayew heading to Palace
Another transfer rumour that seems to be well founded is the move of Jordan Ayew from Swansea to Premier League team Crystal Palace.

It is thought that this is pretty much a done deal, with the formalities penned in for when the player comes back from the Africa Cup of Nations.

This would be a follow-up to last year’s successful loan spell at Palace for the player.  If it comes off, it would help reduce the Swans salary spend for certain.

Will McBurnie stay?
The standout performer last year for many Swans fans was forward Oli McBurnie with 22 goals.

The Scot is a real key player for the team and many fans will be understandably nervous if he goes.

Rumours continue to swirl around about this happening though. Sheffield United are said to have had a £15m bid rejected, while fellow Premier League team Bournemouth are now said to be interested in the player.

The weekend news that the Blades had signed French striker Lys Mousset is great news for Swansea fans though, who will hope that McBurnie stays.

If not, then Cooper must be allowed to use most of the money to find a proven goal-scorer to replace the talented Scot.

Otherwise, the Swans may be firing blanks in the coming season.

Plans to sign Oduwa?
The rumour mill is suspiciously quiet on players coming into SA1 currently, but one nugget that has slipped out is former Tottenham youngster Nathan Oduwa training with the team.

Still only young, Oduwa is a quick winger who would fit in well with what Cooper is trying to build at the Liberty. He would certainly bump up the numbers in midfield too.

Last seen playing at Hapoel Hadera in the Israeli league, people have noted him being allowed to train with Swansea. Is this Cooper running the rule over him in anticipation of a bid?

Is a new goalkeeper on his way?
Last season, the Swans alternated between goalkeepers Erwin Mulder and Kristoffer Nordfeldt.

In truth, neither really impressed, which has seen rumours arise of a new goalkeeper arriving at the club. Many think that the man in question will be Southampton stopper Alex McCarthy.

This would be a smart move by Cooper, who knows that a reliable keeper is a must for a serious promotion push.

McCarthy would certainly fit the bill in terms of size and ability, so this could be one rumour with legs.

The impressive Steven Benda from the Swans U23s is also an option, but having had limited game time in pre-season, it suggests that Cooper feels his goalkeeper options lay elsewhere.

Rumours continue to be heard
As the football league continues on its summer break, we will only continue to hear more rumours about potential transfer dealings in Swansea.

Who will come and who will go remains to be seen for sure, but it will be an exciting time for fans as they wait to find out what happens before the 5pm deadline on August 8th.

Hopefully, new boss Steve Cooper can get the right balance in the squad to make a promotion challenge this year and if his team’s pre-season showings are anything to go by, then at least he is leading the team in the right direction.
