The Swansea City Ladies finished the 2021-2022 campaign with a 1-1 at Cardiff Met and were duly presented with the Genero Adran Premier trophy as league champions.
Chris Church and his team are the first to get their hands on the trophy after winning their third straight domestic league title, having only lost one league game all season.
The Swans Ladies had already been crowned league winners before a ball had been kicked at the Cyncoed Campus this afternoon, after Cardiff City Women held Cardiff Met – the Swans nearest title challengers – to a draw last Saturday evening, meaning Izzy Taylor’s Met team could no longer catch the Swans.
Some people had questioned the Swans Ladies resolve after suffering their first league defeat in three years in March.
With Swans Ladies manager Chris Church saying in an interview with Sgorio earlier in the week that, “This year has been a lot harder for us than previous seasons which can only be good for the league”.
Having only dropped points in four of their 20 league games this season, the Swans Ladies have once again set the standard for other teams to follow, and have deservedly been crowned league champions for the third consecutive season.
Karmyn Carter finished the season as the Adran Premier League and Swans Ladies top scorer with 6 goals, closely followed by Chloe Chivers and Stacey John-Davis with 4 goals.
The Adran Premier League’s Assists table was also topped by a Swan, Chloe Chivers, who provided 4 assists.
