Swansea City Under-18s were defeated by Coventry City Under-18s in their first Premier League Development home fixture of the season.
Kyrell Wilson got the afternoon off to a perfect start as put the home side in front in the 18th minute.
However, it was the visitors who kept pushing and came from behind to take the three points in their season opener, with their goals coming from Bradley Stretton and substitute Aidan Dausch.

An entertaining game, we had long patches of dominance – the 1st halves of each half – and Coventry were just about worthy of their 2-1 win. It could have gone either way, really. Coventry got a 2nd wind after making some telling early 2nd half substitutions and stole victory with a breakaway goal through an empty central Swans middle. We created lots of chances, it just didn’t happen for us.
We looked a little light overall – only 4 subs named – but the plus points:
Evan Watts looks a really assured presence in goal – tall, a good shotstopper and distributor.
Sam Parker had a very decent outing at right wing back, defending well and getting forward aggressively.
Seb Dabrowski looks very comfortable on the ball and adventurous, possibly needs to move to another position to flourish.
Although Jacob Cook and Dan Watts played well, they are very similar. Josh Carey is wasted on the left side of midfield – he does his best work in the middle engine, which is where he moved to when changes were applied.
The front 3 of Morgan, Wilson and Bony had their moments – Morgan’s turn for Wilson’s goal was very classy.
Nice to see a fair number of Coventry supporters there today.
