The Swans return to action after the International break this weekend with a trip to West Bromwich Albion.
Ahead of the game, Russell Martin spoke to the press about the current injury situation within the squad and the hectic schedule of fixtures leading up to the World Cup in November.
The good news is that Joe Allen is back in contention for the clash with the Baggies, whilst Joel Latibeaudiere is back in the squad after the shoulder injury he sustained against Millwall.
Jamie Paterson is set to miss out due to an ongoing groin issue, whilst Liam Cullen is not yet ready due to the shoulder injury he sustained against QPR earlier this month.
Martin took the opportunity to talk about the Swans fixtures in the six week period leading up to the World Cup.
“We have 11 games before the break for the World Cup, seven of those are away, it’s going to be a really tough schedule, there’s no doubt about it. I think after this run of games it’ll be a real indication of where we’re at.” he said.
With the Baggies winless in five and having won just one of their opening ten league games this season, the Swans will be looking to capitalise on their recent improvement in performances.
West Brom boss Steve Bruce could hand a start to former Swans centre-back Kyle Bartley this weekend with Conor Townsend dropping to the bench.
Over 1,500 of the Jack Army have already bought tickets for the clash at the Hawthorns.
