Swansea City fell to a narrow defeat at Preston after being punished for a sloppy first half display.
Brad Potts capitalised on some individual defensive errors by the Swans on 30 minutes, in what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
Despite dominating the second half, the Swans lacked the cutting edge to break down a resolute home side and even when they did, they were foiled by former Swansea City goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
The Swans now welcome Wigan Athletic to the Swansea.com stadium on the weekend for their final home appearance before the World Cup break.
