Match Highlights – Birmingham City 2 Swansea City 2

Swansea City were denied a win at Birmingham City as Blues captain Troy Deeney struck a late equaliser at St Andrew’s.

Once again a slow start and poor defending by the Swans gifted the home side an early lead, as Scott Hogan scored with an unchallenged header on 12 minutes.

The Swans then rallied and started to dictate the game and got their reward with a classy Oliver Ntcham strike on 30 minutes to draw the Swans level.

Matty Grimes then scored a rare goal on the stroke of half-time to give Martin’s men a well deserved lead at the interval.

Sadly the Swans were unable to see the game out and secure their first win in four games, as Birmingham grabbed an equaliser in the 89th minute, meaning Russell Martin and his team had to settle for just a point in a 2-2 draw at St. Andrew’s.

Russell Martin was quick to highlight the frustration felt by everyone in his post-match press conference, after yet another late goal denied Swansea City a win.

The Swans are on the road once again this weekend as they travel to face Huddersfield Town, which will be the Swans final appearance before the World Cup break.
