The Swans drew for the third time in a week when bottom of the table Huddersfield Town held them to a goalless draw in Yorkshire.
Despite having 75% of the possession and 16 shots at goal, the Swans couldn’t capitalise on their dominance against a home side who were happy to sit behind the ball all afternoon.
It could have been an even worse way to sign off before the World Cup break had Steven Benda and Nathan Wood not come to the Swans rescue in the dying minutes.
A rare Huddersfield attack, saw Danny Wood first denied by Benda’s outstretched leg and then Wood’s goal-line clearance, ensuring the Swans kept a clean sheet and gained another point on the road.
Speaking to the press after the game, Russell Martin said that although he was pleased with his side’s performance once again, he felt his side should have taken all three points.
The Swans return to Championship action after the World Cup in Qatar, when Norwich City are the visitors to the Swansea.com stadium on December 10.
