Despite the prospect of a 12 hour round trip, the Jack Army followed their team in impressive numbers at Sunderland this Saturday afternoon.
684 Swansea fans made the trip to the Stadium of Light in the north east for the Championship clash with the Black Cats.
Swans skipper Matt Grimes was full of praise for the travelling Jacks in the 40,000 plus crowd:
“The fans were unbelievable … unbelievable!”
“Honestly, hats off to them for making this trip. They’ve given up their weekend and come all this way.
“I thought they were fantastic and got us through the times when they were creating chances.
“We’re so thankful for them and they make more of a difference than they probably realise. We are so pleased we’ve been able to give them a result.”
For those that did make the 696 mile round trip, they went home happy, as goals from Joel Piroe, Liam Cullen and Ollie Cooper ensured the Swans returned home with all three points after the 3-1 win against Sunderland.
Given the distance, little wonder that quite a few of the Jack Army chose to fly to the north east and make a weekend of it!
The Swans will be backed by over 2,000 fans for their next away game at Queens Park Rangers on 21 January, with the club selling out both the initial and follow up ticket allocations in a matter of days.
