Josh Thomas netted twice as Swansea City Under-21s got back to their winning ways and upheld their perfect record at the Swansea.com Stadium with a 4-1 victory over Sheffield United in the Professional Development League.

Playing against the reigning champions of the competition’s northern section, the home team took the lead thanks to an own goal from Levis Pitan, but Jili Buyabu levelled the score for the Blades.

However, Thomas secured and converted a penalty to put the Swans in front again before half-time, and then struck a low shot to secure the three points towards the end of the game. Substitute Joe Thomas wrapped up a brilliant team move to add further gloss to the scoreline.

The result saw Anthony Wright’s team bounce back from back-to-back defeats, following previous triumphs over Queens Park Rangers, Wigan Athletic, and Hull City with another three points at the senior side’s home ground.

It also marked the first loss for the visitors in the league since November.
