Match Highlights – Birmingham City 2 Swansea City 2

Swansea City was denied a win over Birmingham City at St Andrew’s as Jordan James’ last-gasp equaliser secured a draw for the home side, despite goals from Harry Darling and Jamal Lowe.

For Luke Williams’ first league game in charge, the Swans made nine changes from the FA Cup win over Morecambe, with Sam Parker and Nathan Wood the only players retaining their places.

Harry Darling opened the scoring with a header in the first half, to send the near 2,000 strong Jack Army wild, but Siriki Dembele quickly leveled for Birmingham City, who were being managed by Tony Mowbray for the first time.

In the second half, Jamal Lowe turned in Josh Tymon’s precise cross just before the hour mark, giving Swansea the lead. However, Jordan James’ late strike leveled the score, denying the Swans all three points.

After the match new Head Coach Luke Williams acknowledged the toughness and resilience shown by his team under pressure and praised their character.

While pleased with certain aspects, Williams highlighted the need for cleaner and more controlled play
